Vegas Pro Tutorial (Windows Only)

Welcome to the vegas pro tutorial. If you just only want to use vegas then I'll be happy to help with it.

Usage software and making dataset with Vegas Pro

For this version I'm using 14, but yours might be different. It should be the same as it is, but if you follow me along then we'll get on to it. If you don't know any vegas basics i recommend you search it on youtube because i won't be covering basics.

Vegas is probably most best choice to do with videos and audios, but of course audacity can do that too, but we came here in vegas. Right now, let's get started.

Disabling Quantize To Frames

Sometimes it's annoying when you basically do editing with an audio. Well here's an easy way:

You can disable that via Options up there, or you can just press Alt+F8 so you can toggle.

And when you feel like it to go back to video editing and stuff just turn it back on.

Importing audio file

So firstly you wanna import audio file right? Just drag and drop in to the timeline and voila! it's here:

Marking them with regions

Here what you wanna do is to mark them with regions, what you do is select dialogue part:

And then press R, now the green region will appear, type a number and you should be good to go:

Exporting audio files

So now once you have done you will now have to click, this icon:

Yours icon might be different but what you need is to File --> Render as.

You will be met by this window:

What we need right now is wav, mono, 16-bit and sample rate 22050. So what you wanna do is this.

First select wave and select default template DON'T RENDER JUST YET!

You'll then have to select customize template, and then you'll be greeted by this window:

Nothing too complicated right? So what you'll do is keep it as PCM, sample rate as 22 050, 16 bit depth and channels suppose to be at mono.

Now you rename default template in to something else, click this floppy disk and click OK BUT DON'T RENDER. We don't need it anymore for that.

Instead we'll go for batch rendering.

All you wanna do is Tools --> Scripting --> Batch render and this will open this window:

Here what you wanna do, click browse to select whatever folder you'd like to save (you can name whatever you like but then you gonna have to copy and paste file names). Then select render regions so that it should be rendered as trimmed audios. And then click + button on Wave (Microsoft) and select preset that you just saved (in my case Tacotron) and click OK, now this will batch render and it's done.

Finish

If you done everything correctly, then congratulations but we haven't done yet, we need to transcribe the audios. So we'll be going to transcribing an audio.
